There are 3 stages involved in creating a mobile app, they are as follows :

1. Planning the app

The first step involves establishing your objectives and requirements. We will then determine your timeline and budget. From this information, we can than prepare a proposal, which will define the scope of the project and projected timescale.

2. Development of the app

Once the app development requirements have been agreed, we will confirm the estimated development launch date. During the development process, we will send you regular builds to ensure that the app meets/exceeds your expectations. The app will also be tested on a regular basis  to ensure any bugs are resolved in a timely manner.

3. Publication of the app

When the app development is finished, it will be submitted to the various app stores for approval. This can usually take 1-2 weeks before the app is publically available to download from the relevant app stores.

Development of a mobile app can take anywhere from two to four months after the initial meeting / consultation, depending on design complexities and requirements. Time frames are also dependent on timely communication between the client and our development team.

No, as our app development work is internet based, we are ideally suited to serve local and international customers. We can provide excellent support and service regardless of where you are based.

We develop apps for iPhone / iPad, Android and Windows phones / tablets

Yes, you can see everything we do, as long as you are sitting in front of your computer.

The Rom and Ram remote access software utilise a 256 bit encryption process. This ensures that the connection is completely safe and secure, and we can only access your computer with your permission. You will be able to see us control your desktop at all times and you may terminate the remote session, at your end, at any time you wish.

Our Engineers will see the exact same screen as you can see. Our remote software simply takes your screen and projects it onto our computer and gives us keyboard and mouse access.

In the rare case that a problems comes back within 5 days of the remote session ending, we will arrange for you to have another session free of charge to resolve.

The average remote session duration is about an hour – the length of time depends on the state of your PC and the nature of the problem(s).

It is extremely rare that our Engineers encounter a problem that they cannot repair. However, you will receive a refund if our Engineers are unable to resolve your PC problem. Alternatively, you can bank the session time you have paid for and use it for another remote session within 6 months.

We support all Windows and Macintosh systems as long as they’re able to connect to the internet and you can access the system desktop.

No. Under no circumstances will a Rom and Ram Engineer be able to access your PC in the future, unless you request / book a new session and you explicitly allow the connection at your end. Until you initiate a new session, we can neither see nor access your PC.

There are 2 scenarios where a remote session wouldn’t be appropriate:

1. If you have no network connectivity or internet connection – this would make it impossible to connect to your system to fix.

2. If you have startup problems – if you are unable to boot your system into the Windows or Mac OS desktop due to hardware problems, such as memory / hard disk failure or a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death), we wouldn’t be able to connect.

Absolutely not. The Engineer will see only what you see and whatever you permit him or her to see on your PC screen.

FTP is an abbreviation of File Transfer Protocol. FTP is a standard Internet protocol and is the simplest way to exchange files between computers on the Internet. It is commonly used to transfer Web page files from their creator to the computer that acts as their server on the Internet. It can also be used to download files to your computer from other servers.

URL is an abbreviation of Uniform Resource Locator, which is the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web. URL`s usually begin with http:// or if the site is secure it would start with https://. It would then be followed by www.(world wide web) and then end with the domin name. So the URL for this site is http://www.romandram.co.uk.

Yes, Rom and Ram recommend that you consider the following points : Do you want your logo to stand out against your competitors? What do you want the logo to represent? (do you want the logo to represent quality, fun, elegance etc.) What colors should your logo be in? Does your logo require a certain typeface? Will your design require text / image or both? Rom and Ram can help you every step of the way to ensure that your design is exactly what you require.

Print logos are required to have a much higher resolution to create, and need to be saved in certain print formats such as TIFF, EPS and PDF. This is so the logo can be opened up and printed without having the original software program the logo was created in. Print logos can have a very large file size, and are best sent to you on a form of removable media, such as CD-ROM. Web logos require a much smaller resolution and can be sent via email because of the small file size.

A domain name is an address on the worldwide web, like our address, romandram.co.uk. Your domain name can be a business or personal name, or whatever you want (subject to availability). Domain names can end in .co.uk like this website, or other extension such as .com, .me.uk, .org and many more.

When you open a web hosting account and obtain a domain name you will be able use your domain name to receive e-mails. An example of this would be “name@yoursite.com”. Your e-mail can be accessed by regular e-mail programs such as Outlook or Thunderbird and via the web.

This is only limited by your imagination. Usually, a website will have a homepage, which is the first page that appears when visitors go to your website, information about yourself, your business or organisation. If you are short on ideas, we can always provide you with suggestions for content if needed.

Most budgets can be catered for, starting from £250.00. If you’re looking for a new website, maintenance, or a brand new design for your existing site, Rom and Ram will work closely with you to determine your needs.

All websites are stored on a server. It is usually a high specification computer which is constantly connected to the Internet. When you surf the internet and visit a website, your computer downloads the web pages from the server that the website resides on.

Normally a website can be online within 1 – 2 months but it can take a little longer depending on the following factors : Design complexities, Graphic work to be done, amount of website pages required, your own preferences, any extra features you require. If you need your website quickly, please tell us your desired time scale and we will do our best to create your site within this time. We are very flexible and can usually meet your requirements.

Yes, we can update your site with new content or amend your sites existing content. We can also redesign your site and / or add new pages to your site.

Your website can usually be online within 1 – 2 Months depending on design and complexity requirements and is a relatively easy process. The following information details the steps involved in creating your website with Rom and Ram :

Step 1

Domain Name
One of the first and most important considerations is choosing a domain name for your website. We can help you choose this and check it`s availability. The domain name can be anything you like (subject to availability) such as www.myname.co.uk. This is the address that visitors will enter into their web browser in order to arrive at your website. We will then register your domain name. Rom and Ram web design packages include 1 year domain registration. Once registered, the domain name will become your own and this can be used to point to your website on the Internet

Step 2

Website Content
You`ll need to a have clear idea of what you would like to achieve with your website. Is your site about a business or product that you wish to sell?, or is it a personal website about yourself?. Depending on the type of site you want, you will need to decide what information you would like to include. We can work closely with you to suggest ideas and content for your website.

Step 3

Website Mood and Design
What type of image or mood would you like to convey to your visitors? What sort of colour scheme and fonts would you like? Will your site require e-commerce features such as a shopping cart or any other extras?. There are lots of possibilities. Rom and Ram will work closely with you to determine your preferences and needs. From the information you supply we will propose several draft designs for your approval. Your new website will be unique, and custom designed to meet your requirements. Rom and Ram can also create custom graphics and content for your site if required. After we have agreed on a final design, work can then commence on the creation of your website. This will usually occur within 7 days from our initial consultation.

Step 4

Your Files / Content
If you have any of your own content, such as photographs or business logos / images or text that you want to be included on your web pages, they should be sent to Rom and Ram at this point. You can send your documents / files to Rom and Ram in several ways. Either by e-mail attachment, FTP or by post, whatever method suits you best. If you are sending written content via FTP or E-mail they should be submitted as a text file (such as “filename.txt”) or as a Word Document (such as “filename.doc”). Image files can be sent in most popular formats such as .jpg, .gif, .bmp, .jpeg, .pdf and .png.

Step 5

Web Hosting
In order for your website to be seen by everyone on the Internet, it needs to be hosted on a Web Server. Rom and Ram can offer you a competitive and affordable Web Hosting account which can be customized to your individual needs. Our web design packages include 1 year of hosting. At this point Ram and Ram will test your website on it`s own servers (or one of your choice) to check that everything is working as it should.

Step 6

Approving the final website
Once your website is completed, Rom and Ram will seek your approval. At this stage, if there are any changes you wish to make, we can do this for you. Finally, if everything is to your satisfaction, the website will be uploaded to your Web Hosting account. Your website will then be “online” and able to be viewed by everyone.
